Foto Fridays: 52 Weeks of Photos

So....remember my 30 day photo challenge? Life seemed to get in the way and it kind of got pushed to the back burner. I'd still like to revisit it every so often to continue to develop my photography skills and achieve a goal, but obviously my 30 days is extending far and above. Of course, that doesn't stop me from joining in on some more photography fun! Introducing Foto Fridays: a 52 Week Photo Challenge similar to 30 days, but it extends an entire year; and I actually have some accountability to get things done ON TIME because I've joined a group of talented ladies that will all link to eachother! Hooray! for accountability.

My mornings begin around 5:00 am (read- pitch black). I wake up, get any computer work done I need to finish that I passed out working on the night before, then I get ready to go to running at cheer practice at 6:15. Most of my mornings look like this:

One Month Away.....

I can't believe it's only ONE MONTH until hello there! house home & garden event! There's so much to do but I can't wait until it's finally here! I've been working like a busy bee for months and it's shaping up to be a fabulous event! If you live in Arizona, or are planning to be in Arizona Ocotber 7th & 8th- you don't want to miss it! Work & Play

Over Labor Day weekend, my sister Eryn & I photographed a wedding in beautiful Pinetop. The weather was perfectly overcast but not rainy, the location (which was right on Rainbow Lake) was gorgeous, and the wedding itself was simply beautiful. While we were waiting on the groom to show up for his photos, we found a pretty piece of land to take some shots of each other. Eryn looked particularly lovely Sunday. 

I apparently forgot the Cardinal Rule of Eyeliner that day, but still the background is far too pretty not to post.

Team Tuesday: Quatrefoil Love

When I saw the Quatrefoil Kits in the Rhonna Designs store,  I felt a surge of happiness- it's absolutely fantastic! And $4? Seriously, there is so much you can do with this thing. The first thing I thought of was home decor. If you've ever been to my house, you know that I have a tendency to decorate everyday like a party. I have banners, pom poms, signs, & flags all over the place all the time; and I think it adds a little festivity to the "glamourous" life of being a mom of 5.  Happy home decor just makes me feel good. So that's just what I set out to make.

I grabbed a couple of small mason jars and filled them with flour, then grabbed a big old crusty mason jar and spray painted it platinum. I tied some Divine Twine to them and printed off some of the Quatrefoil tags really small and punched them out with my scallop punch. 

Then I made the flags. I added some inspirational words to them, added a graph paper background, then just printed them out & cut! I hot glued them to skewers and made some little mini flags to fancy them up. More scalloped round tag punches were hot glued on, and a tissue paper fringe pom topped a few flags.

How fun are these? They are now sitting on my computer center and remind everyone who walks in to stay inspired & creative. Oh, and don't you love the frames I used on the photos above {wink}?
