We didn't do very much traveling for this Memorial Day weekend, so we had to make due with a tiny little trip with all our little bitties down to the corner IHop for breakfast.

I'm sure the other girls of Foto Friday have waaay more exciting travel plans than I. Let's look, shall we?

I have wanted a Macro lens for sooooo long, so I borrowed my sister's Macro lens attachment- pretty confusing and hard to use :( So I just snapped on my 50 mm and got as close as I possibly could to my veggies I harvested this morning from our garden! Photographing the veggies might be my favorite part about gardening (um, after the eating ;)

This week's challenge was super fun for me because I haven't shared my garden progress with everyone for a while, and this gives me the PERFECT opportunity to do so!

Photobucket

We planted these tomatoes in February- I think we have a total of 20 plants all together. They started off pretty teeny and I had no idea if they were actually going to fruit or not. After weeks of flowering, but not seeing any tomatoes on any plants save one cherry tomato plant, I was started to get a little worried. But now, all of a sudden in the last two weeks they have been EXPLODING with fruit! We bought some different varieties such as cherry tomatoes, Early Girls, Lemon Boys and yellow cherry tomatoes and it's crazy to see the differences in the sizes and shapes. This is one of our biggest tomatoes, which my mom planted under a pine tree just as an experiment. The pine tree tomatoes are doing even better than the garden bed tomatoes! All the plants have fluffed out and grown much taller it seems overnight, and we just added cages around all our tomatoes, some peppers, and our giant tomatillo plants (which have a TON of flowers, but no fruit yet) and it makes the garden look so official and not like we have no idea what we are doing. I have big big plans to can gallons of tomato sauce with these babies so we can have the freshest pasta and pizza sauce all year long.

Photobucket

Against our brick wall is our melon beds lines with Ornamental corn and sunflowers. If you look close you can see all the little yellow squash flowers waiting to turn into a squash bonanza. We're literally going to have squash coming out of our ears, so I'll keep everyone posted on when anyone can come and pick some out of the garden. We've planted all kinds of varieties- from crookneck yellow, to zuchinni, butternut, acorn, and this cute flat yellow peter pan squash.

And here is our Anaheim Chilis! I'm beyond excited to start roasting these for Green Chile Pork. It is the BEST. We planted all kinds of peppers in our Salsa Garden- Anaheim, Habanero, Cayenne, Serrano, Jalapenos, and Bells.

Photobucket

We have a giant square Sweet Corn Patch in the middle where we've companion planted with squash and beans. Here is where the butternut and acorn squash are, along with Soy Beans and Lima Beans. It's going to be fun once the corn gets tall to send the kids in to hunt for the squash and beans.

Photobucket

Last but not least, here is where our strawberry plants are. We planted Borage flowers around them because I read that borage protects the berries. Borage grows fast & furious providing lots of shade for the strawberries to protect from the impending heat, and while there are big bites out of the borage leaves from caterpillars we've found- all the strawberries are fully intact! We're plucking all the flowers off the strawberry plants this year to hopefully yield a bigger crop next year. We also have some humongous spinach growing beside the borage, so it's hard to see, but for reals- if ANYONE is wanting some free spinach, let me know. You can come grab as much as you need. There is no way we will be able to consume it all between two families.

I'll keep everyone updated on the garden progress next month, as for now here are the other ladies of Foto Friday's entries!

I'm a week behind on my Foto Friday, so I decided to post last week's today and I'll do this week's in between today and next Friday to hopefully get all caught up!

Last week's assignment was doors, so I snapped some pics of my very favorite door in our house, our kids' Tooth Fairy Door. Olivia is getting close to losing another one, so another glitter filled trip from the Tooth Fairy will be in order.

Here are some of my favorite Tooth Fairy doors I've seen online:

And I need to get busy with a new tooth fairy pillow for La, since the old one was a little wonky and a tad creepy. I love this one I found.

Happy Friday!

Last weekend, I went to The Happiest Place on Earth for a cheer competition with my cheerleaders. Being at Disneyland without my family was a little weird, but being there alone and free to do whatever you want is a little known luxury if you know what to do. I spent a lot of my time learning about the History of Disneyland and watching shows and riding rides that no one ever wants to do when you're with a bunch of people. One of the most whimsical things about the Park is that most people think that "it all started with a mouse, but in reality it all started with a train". Walt Disney had a life long passion with the Railroad and there is an entire shop on Main Street devoted to his model trains, and information about the creation of the Disneyland Railroad, which I got to ride on for the first time ever!

Photobucket

There are so many amazing things at Disneyland, but I think my new favorite thing is the Railroad nostalgia it promotes to everyone that enters. I know that I left with a new found love for the Train.

Happy Friday y'all! I've had a quiet week (on the internet at least) dedicated to Spring Breaking with my kids and helping my Mother In Law out at her store while she went on a cruise

Photobucket

I've been wanting to get to sewing again, but luckily my mom has been busy as a bee sewing up these darling little skirts for my girls to wear tomorrow. They're my favorite green things right now.

One of my favorite things in my house is my twins bedroom. I  was so inspired by Dear Lizzy's Scrapbook Collection and CHA booth back in 2010, that I based the whole nursery around it. I made a whole wall of frames, and put together layouts using the scrapbook line with my favorite photos of the twins as babies.

I used Rhonna Designs Washi Tape Frames on these cute little photos, since it's fitting for today's theme! Mosey on over to the other girls of Foto Friday to see what their Framed entries are!

It's this guy's birthday today:

And I'm glad inform everyone that the bad part of a fight is over, and the good part of a fight {the making up part} in in full force. I must admit, as much as I hate feeling like garbage, nothing breathes new life into a relationship like working through a problem together. I was mulling over that fact in my head the other day, and I realized that I want the freshness in our relationship to last longer than the just the days after a problem. I want this good part to continue on. I don't want to slip back into our normal routine, and feel like we don't appreciate one another enough. So, I came up with a plan to keep this "make-up" going.  A "relationship treasure hunt" if you will. Cheesy? Yes. Fun? Yes. Will it work? We'll see; and if you'd like to try it and see if it adds more excitement and newness into your relationship, then it's a win-win!

I made us a Spice Jar.

Ours is just a mason jar painted copper, but you could use any container you want. I came up with a bunch of things for us to do together {I came up with 66 things}, printed them out on two slips of paper each so we each can pick one of things throughout the year, then folded the papers and stuck them in our jar. We each pick one out every Friday and have the whole week to do what it says on the paper.

You can either come up with them together or by yourself and surprise your man. I would share my list, but some of them get a little steamy and I wouldn't want my family members who read my blog to get throughly grossed out, so I'll just share a few:

In addition to the jar, we're going to keep a Spice Journal to put photos of our experiences, put in our love notes to each other, etc. I think it's going to be so exciting and push us to put effort into our relationship on a weekly basis.

Feel free to try this experiment out and let me know how it goes! In the meantime, here is the rest of the Foto Friday entries:

I'm a little late posting last week's Foto Friday, but here's my Reflection post! It makes me realize how lucky I am that I got twins and not quadruplets! Can you IMAGINE the teeth brushing?

And don't forget the other ladies of Foto Friday!

I've been delving into my new gardening obsession, and planted some seeds for the very first time into my raised beds. I started out slow with putting in lettuce transplants, which are doing phenomenal by the way, but I've been so nervous trying to grow something from a seed. Kelly sent me some seed packets and I put some seeds into the ground. As I walked out to my garden at the beginning of this week, what did I see? Little sproutlets peeking out of the soil, and my heart leapt! New life!

I don't have a macro lens, so this is as good of a shot I as could get, but I'm so thrilled about this major acheivement! Pretty soon, these will be Endive greens that we will gobble up. We've had a fabulous crop of lettuce from those transplants that we got out and pick from everyday to create the BEST salads I have ever had.

We Watsons are on a new eating kick-eggs. Which is good because soon the chickens will be laying and we'll have eggs coming out of our ears.  I've seen all kinds of egg variations and this one is so original and oh-so-delicious: Scrambled eggs with pepperoni, broccoli, potatoes, italian sausage, bell peppers, and cheddar. Mmmmmmmmm

Do you want to check out the other Foto Friday girls' tasty morsels? Me too.

This challenge was kind of hard for me. I mean, I love sooooo many things. My family, food {specifically pie}, music, dancing, Christmas..... the list goes on and on. How do you choose just ONE? And how to capture that one thing ever so perfectly? So I decided to stick with the Sound of Music on this one and go with the small things that make me smile. I mean, who doesn't love Girls in White Dresses with Blue Satin Sashes and Snowflake that Stay on My Nose and Eyelashes?

Let's see what the other girls of Foto Friday love:

I Love Lens Flare. Never been all that terrific at it, but I do love it so. Observe:

I wish I could say this is the real thing, alas it was a dark and stormy day yesterday and I had to make due with an action. I still like it though, and how about that Rosemary Christmas Tree? Darling.

Let us see how the other ladies of Foto Friday interpreted this week's challenge:
