Spark Worship Day 5

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Did you guys watch the webshow last night?!?!?! It was amazing, I LOVED all the decor they showed especially the book page chandelier that Heidi made. She posted a link to the instructions on her blog, and I am going to make this for my house tomorrow! I started putting up the Halloween decorations today so this chandlier will be a sweet touch!

One of the Core Classes at Spark was a photography class taught by Wendy of Blue Lily Photography. Her work is gorgeous and super inspiring, so I'm going to share some photo tutorials, favorite photographers and links that will help all amateurs at home get that profesh look for all your upcoming fall photos!

Check out The Pioneer Woman's Photography Section. Now. It is chock full of amazing photo tips-from lighting to what all those crazy buttons on your camera, to new camera suggestions. AND she gives away Free Photoshop Actions! Wohoo! I love her sepia tones, they are gorgeous!

You can purchase more actions at Maggie Homes site, they are fun and super easy to use!

Totally Rad Actions are .....well, totally rad. And they give out free trial actions so you can see if their style is right for you.

And for some awesome classes, you can check out Wendy's Enlighten Workshop in Scottsdale Nov 19th-20th! Also coming up are Nicole Gerulat's online photo classes which look A-mazing (I want to buy her textbook super bad).

All these photos are from portfolios in our new Heirloom Photography Client Gallery! Check out the Heirloom Blog for more info about what's going on with our new photography business!

Spark Worship Day 2

Monday, September 20, 2010

Hello World! l'm back from my week long hiatus! I spent ALL WEEK stalking the ladies of Spark and I can't wait to whip up all the fun crafts they all did this weekend! Today I'm going to start with April Meeker's Silhouette Project! I need to update my silhouette wall in my front room so I took the pictures of my kids today and followed these directions to make our 2010 silhouettes. If you don't have Photoshop, you can follow these directions from Jaimee Rose to make them by hand.

With the old silhouettes I am going to re-use them (in Nie Nie fashion) and make April's Spark Project with them! Instead of pasting the project on canvas like she did, I used my digital designs from House of 3 to create a layout in photoshop, then uploaded it to Persnickity Prints and ordered an 8 x 8 metallic print! I can't wait to pop these onto my kids walls!

If you just do not want to go through all the trouble to make your own silhouettes, or if you want them as a jpeg file for you to use throughout the year and you don't have the equipment to do it yourself, email me at rosemaryw@me.com and I can do your own silhouettes for you for $5 each! Let me know as soon as possible to get these done in time for Christmas! These make great gifts, I'm doing a whole silhouette theme this year!

Spark Worship Day 1

Ok, I'm kicking off the Spark worship by sharing this music video, which I must admit, I was a little skeptical about. I am not a huge fan of Christian music. I know that sounds awful, but really I mostly think that good Christian musicians are few and far between. But this song is lovely and could be interpreted in many many ways, and really I just love the cinematography of the video and her butterfly wings. And the waltz cadence the song is in, it's perfect for rocking your babies to sleep.

Mindy Gledhill is performing at Spark and I wish wish wish I was there to hear this lovely little lullaby in person! It is so inspiring-I think I'll put my girls in butterfly wings!
