Project 365-February Layout #3

Friday, February 26, 2010

My super bright layout for today is from Valentines Day. We took the kids & my parents & sisters to Grimaldi's for pizza and played at the playground at San Tan. My dad bought us all ice cream and the kids got to look at the pet store for the kind of puppy they want. Olivia really wants to get a dog that's "not too big, and not too small Momma" and name her Frannie.

Happy Birthday to Braden & Kathie!

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Hooray! My husband is 27 today, and coincidentally so is our good family friend Kathie! (How do you you keep getting younger?) I promised Braden I wouldn't have the twins on his birthday since he already has to share his day with one girl-can you imagine with 3? Poor guy.

Love these new frames

I woke up this morning at 1:00 am with a crappy Penelope, but couldn't fall back asleep after she did so I got up and made this birthday banner for Braden. I am one serious procrastinator. It took me all of 30 minutes to print out the banner, cut it up, staple it all to this fun black pom pom trim I found at the bottom of my craft cabinet, and tape the little circles to the top. At 3:00 am.
I used the House of 3 Birthday Printable Banner Kit & added the letters in Photoshop (it's Rosewood font). The kit is $2 so there is no reason not to have it. Even if you don't have photoshop, it comes as a printable pdf file so you can just print & go. Love it.

Oh, and you must check out their Live Webshow tonight-It's a craft-a-long class with Heidi Swapp making a Birthday Memories Book! Go to her blog to get a supply list and we can all make one together. I might just be making one (or a few) of these to give out as birthday presents coming up!

Un-necessary Necessities

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I feel like I want to have everything ready to go when I actually have to deliver the twins, but I find that most things I want aren't really all that important, they would just make the hospital stay much more pleasant.

Like a custom hospital gown so I don't have to wear those depressing ones they give you that show your butt cheeks and fall off your shoulders. The ones from Lily and Lou are too cute (but $70 is out of my price range unfortunately).

I also want to bring my own blanket and pillow because the ones at the hospital SUCK and they are always running out. I love these whole-cloth quilts from Sweet Baby Jaime, and I ordered some Nicey Jane fabric to try and make my own in my size.

And this Mama & Baby Bird bath basket would be heaven to have for after the twins come. Flying Bird Botanicals have some awesome products that I am dying to try.

I also need a nice big bag to stash all my hospital stuff in, and I love this one from Pretty Little Things. It's so bright and cheery! I bought some green zebra fabric in hopes i can make my own before the babies come, but I don't know if I will get it done in time.

I've been working on a bunch of baby headbands for the girls and I just listed a bunch in our Handmade Parade Etsy shop and SURPRISE! We're doing another giveaway on the Handmade Parade Blog for your choice of the New Rosette Baby Headbands! Head on over there and enter to win-the giveaway ends March 1st!

Countdown to Babies

Sunday, February 21, 2010

In honor of Evelyn and Georgia we are going to start a delivery date pool here on my blog (in addition to our family pool and my mom's facebook pool) for people to try and guess the date the twins will be born. In my family's pool I guessed Valentines Day, so I'm already out! They are due on April 1st and I am 34 weeks right now, so there are still lots and lots of days to pick. Leave a comment with your guess and if you are right, you win a prize! Try not to pick a day that someone else has already chosen though, so look through all the comments before you choose!

PS- I made my cute countdown banner above using House of 3 Countdown Kit & the Valentine Lace Border Kit

Here's the rest of the pictures from Schnepf Farm. The dog on the bottom that Braden is petting lived there and came right up to us. Braden was thisclose from taking that dog home.

Birthday Love

Thursday, February 18, 2010

How much are you in love with my new blog background & header? I am OBSESSED with the new House of 3 Birthday Stuff-it's all insanely cute. If you didn't watch their live show last night, you MUST go and watch the recorded version-there are sooooooo many great ideas to stay prepared for any birthday throughout the year. There are 2 color ways for boys & girls so if you stock up on all their stuff you will always be ready for that birthday that is sneaking up on you. Next week is Kathie & Braden's birthday on the 24th so I plan on using some of the kits for cards and banners and stuff. The Mini Happy Tags are FREE so hurry up and snag yours before their regular price!

Also, the twins Birth Day will be coming up soon so I'm thinking of making up some extra little banners for the hospital to make it a little more cheery. You all know how blah those hospital rooms can be :)

A New Leaf

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Yesterday was a bad day. It should have been a great day-it was Mardi Gras, I accomplished a lot, and I have 3 beautiful children who I get to squeeze all day long. However, it was eclipsed by Landen throwing up all over himself in the car when we were showing houses out in Queen Creek (at the very first house mind you), waiting in line FOREVER at the Post Office, and other annoyances that irked me throughout the day. The thing that set it off though, was my friend Renee had her first baby yesterday morning two weeks early and she is beautiful. It both made me so happy for her, and made me burst into tears out of self pity that I am so flippin miserable all the time carrying these two babies. Once the self pity drained away, I remembered that so many people are never even able to have children and even more don't ever have twins so I should feel lucky to be able to experience this, so then the guilt hit me and I felt even worse.

So now, I am going to try my hardest to stop focusing on how much I hurt all the time, how swollen my feet and ankles are, and how I feel like there is permanent fire in my throat which prevents me from sleeping more than 4 hours at a time. I am going to stop stressing out about how much we have to get done before the twins get here and just enjoy being able to have the opportunity to prepare for a life with 5 children.

Braden just finished the kids new giant dressers so now we have a place to put the insane amount of laundry scattered around my house. We are getting this mini bunk bed for the kids, right now they are sleeping on our floor in their doggie sleeping bags from Pottery Barn (we just love those).

Today we will pick out paint colors for the rooms and on Saturday the walls are getting painted, and the carpets are getting cleaned, so by the beginning of next week, I'll have some progress to show everyone!

Now I have to start picking out fabrics for bedding & curtains, and look for white frames for the nursery. The nesting phase has fully hit me, so hopefully I can embrace it and try and make these last few weeks (hopefully days) a bit more tolerable.

Oh, and I wanted to share this blog with you-whenever I get frustrated with my kids or just with my life I read her beautiful blog and it never fails to bring me to tears with gratitude.

Project 365-February Layout #1

Monday, February 15, 2010

I've been soooooooo busy this weekend filling our Handmade Parade orders from last week, and now that I'm just about caught up I have some time to put up my 365 layout from last week.

We took La La out to take some pictures with Eryn's pettiskirts and we got some awesome pictures of her so I had to make a whole layout devoted to my Olivia.

Happy Valentines Day

Valentines Day Picnic

Thursday, February 11, 2010

If you want to do something a little different this year for Valentines Day, why not go to Schnepf Farms and have a picnic under the peach blossoms?

photo via Jaimee Rose

I saw on Jaimee Rose's blog that they were opening up the orchards for people to see the gorgeous pink flowers in all the trees, and I knew I had to get pictures done there. So I dragged Braden along this morning for Eryn to take some maternity photos of us together, and man is it gorgeous there.

I'll be putting these in next week's 365 layout, so check back for that!

Also, I must give a shout out to Peg & Meg Moffat, when I got home last night from cheer tryouts I found a sweet little package of Oops Burp cloths that were to die for adorable. Thanks so much guys, you made my day!

Oh Happy Day!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

I gotta tell you guys, when I woke up today, I was super bummed out. I started having contractions last night around 6:00 and they kept on coming, so I ended up gong to the hospital at 8:00 thinking that the twins were on their way into the world! It was a little nerve wracking but exciting and I was hoping and hoping to see my girls by today. Unfortunately (or I guess fortunately, whichever way you look at it) the doctors did not want me to deliver at 32 1/2 weeks so I after 4 hours of extreme discomfort (I'll spare you the details) they sent me home and said I'll probably keep having contractions, but not to come back until they get really painful. Awesome. So, needless to say I am crabby, tired, hungry, and bummed out this morning.

But then, I started checking out some of my favorite blogs, and Voila! Instant mood lifter, because LOOK at what is going on at House of 3! So many gorgeous things going on over there for their Birthday Party celebration that is kicking off right after Valentines Day! I want to buy EVERYTHING from the new Birthday Party collection (and I'm sure the birthday party we will be attending this Saturday will be seeing a little of this stuff :)

Also, they are giving away FREE Blog Couture- A Valentines Background and Banner that you can put up just in time for Love Day. Don't you just love presents when you are in a bad mood? I do.

****Oh, and don't forget, it's Wednesday Night-House of 3 Live Video Night! Be there and there might be discounts for all the new fab stuff! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Inspiration Tuesday

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Whew! I have been crazy busy today trying to get an open house organized for this Saturday, rushing to fill some Handmade Parade orders before Valentines Day, and taking care of a sick husband with a man-cold, (you all know the drama that ensues with a man-cold) so I didn't get a chance to finish my Fabric Flower Paper Lollies I was going to post about today. Instead I'm going to send you on another blog hunt to Dear Lizzy-Elizabeth Kartchner's blog.

She is freakin amazing, and she just came out with a new scrapbook paper line, Dear LIzzy with American Crafts as well as a book: 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges that I am putting on my wishlist. I have stressed and stressed about what to do with the twins nursery, and after seeing the pictures of her booth at the CHA show a couple of weeks ago, my mind has been made up. I am going to base the nursery completely on her new paper line, right down to the sweet mint walls, and tons of white picture frames with layouts inside.

She also has a ton of cute Valentines ideas to decorate your house with, like this darling heart banner you just run through the sewing machine. Genius!

Go ahead and waste the rest of your day going through the fabulousness of her blog, and don't be afraid to feed your kids Ramen for dinner because you've wasted hours reading about her (Fawn:)

Project 365-January Layout #5

Monday, February 8, 2010

I skipped over my 365 layout for last week, so I'm posting it in a hurry today-there's so much stuff I have to blog about this week! I took some Maternity photos with my sister Eryn the last week of January (remember the outtakes?) and I posted some on Facebook, but here are some of my favorites I put in a layout for the Project 365.

Do you love the embellishments on the page? I love love love these brushes from House of 3, so versatile!

Speaking of House of 3, there are a TON of amazing projects going on this week on their Inspiration House blog, Rhonna Farrer's blog, Heidi Swapp's blog, and Janet Hopkins blog using all the new House of 3 Valentines stuff so why not waste the rest of your day (and your grocery money) digging into some of these projects? I'll share one of my Valentines projects tomorrow from the Rolled Fabric Flower tutorial Rhonna is showing today!

PS- check the Handmade Parade Blog to see if you are the lucky winner of the Felt Rosette Headband!

Did you all watch the House of 3 webshow last night? It was awesome, there were so many great ideas on there. My favorite project though, was this Valentines Banner Kit. It's $2, which is cheaper than your Starbucks so buy it today and make this for crying out loud.

I cut one up, added some paper doilies and voila! Fabulous banner to coordinate with my tissue paper pom poms. I even added some mini pom poms and crepe paper ruffles to the mix cuz I couldn't resist. Once I finished, I decided to take it a step further and cut out some more embellishments using some other House of 3 Valentines Kits (I used the Vintage Valentines Text Garlands Kit, the Valentines Doily Kit, and some of the Love Twenty Ten Dingbat Fonts). This would have been MUCH easier if I had a Silhouette Die Cutting Machine, but for now I used plain old scissors.

I just stapled all the pieces to a piece of pink satin ribbon and now I LOVE it! I want to put banners all over my house now. Braden wants me to restrain myself.

Wednesday Webshows!

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Wohoo! Tonight is another one of House of 3's weekly Webshows! If you've never seen them, they are awesome and lots of fun. They have all kinds of tips, crafts, specials, and giveaways during the show so sign up to watch and chat away and ask all kinds of questions tonight. Tonight's show is all about Valentines Projects and I can't wait to see what those ladies have in store for us. Check out Rhonna's video for a sneak peek!

Chocolate Attack

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

You know, I'm not the hugest chocolate fan, but sometimes I get hit with a serious Chocolate Pudding Mania. I've never made it before, but it sounded good today and we were out of snack paks, so I found a recipe and whipped it up. It literally took me about 5 minutes to make and it's insanely delicious. I will never eat plastic cup pudding again. It's seriously sooooo good hot, and probably even better cold, especially when you top it with some fresh whipped cream and with a couple of strawberries on top.

Make it for Valentines Day, husbands and kids will love it. Mine sure did.

Valentines Decor

Monday, February 1, 2010

I can't tell you how excited I am that for 2 whole weeks we get to have pink pink pink all over my house. I hung up my favorite decoration pieces yesterday- Tissue Paper Pom Poms.

See how easy peasy lemon squeezy it is here on Martha Stewart of course. I think once Valentines Day is over I'm going to move these into the twins new nursery.
