Cooking in 2010
Sunday, January 10, 2010
With a whole week full of digital scrapbooking posts last week, it's time to transition into one of my favorite topics-cooking. I am making the transition smooth by combining the two-today I will share a couple of recipes with you, as well as some sweet downloads to print! Hooray!
I couldn't decide what to get my sister for her wedding, and now I've decided to make her an on-going present that she can use everyday of her life-a cookbook! I'm going to compile all my favorite and most-used recipes together and send her an album and recipe cards in the mail every week so she can have them handy whenever she needs! You can follow along and make one too!
The first recipe I'm going to share is my Pizza Dough and Pizza Sauce Recipes. These are easy peasy lemon squeezy, and I made them both last night for Saturday Pizza Night we are starting at our house (I took that brilliant idea from the enchanting Nie Nie). We always make a cheese pizza for the kids with just sauce, mozzarella, & parmesan cheeses, and we always have a margherita pizza with no sauce-just olive oil, crushed garlic, mozzarella, tomatoes & fresh basil, but we ended the night with a meat lovers (Braden's favorite). We used the pizza sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, pepperoni, bacon, & breakfast sausage and holy guacamole it was delicious. And I'll share my mom's guacamole recipe a different day.
Anyway, the best thing about pizza night is that you have literally endless possibilities of the kinds of pizzas you can make, if you just start with the staple of Pizza Dough & Pizza Sauce. The pizza dough recipe is from the famous Chris Bianco of Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix, which was featured in Martha Stewart Magazine last summer. Follow this link and this link and this link to get some good ideas of some unique and delicious looking pizzas to try out! And the sauce recipe is from Tyler Florence on the Food Network website- super easy and it makes a ton so you will have enough for about a month's worth of Saturday Pizza Nights.
Ok download time! I love how you can mix cooking with digital scrapbooking/design to make the experience that much more pleasant. You know what else would make it more pleasant? If you cooked pizzas wearing this:

Sorry, I get distracted too easily. Here are your downloads!
The Recipes

And Blank Recipe cards in case you want to scribble in your own variations or use them for other recipes

Come back tomorrow for a run down of tonight's delicious family dinner I have planned- it's a good one!
