I can't sleep

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

It's currently 3:45 am, and I've been up for an hour and a half on my computer because for some reason my body thinks it should be awake right now. Probably preparing itself for those long sleepless newborn nights. Anyway, it sucks, but at least I've been doing something totally productive-searching the web for my next new sewing projects! Look what I found:

This darling newborn dress by Made By Rae. I may or may not be using these for Evelyn & Georgia's coming home outfits from the hospital. With Penelope I used a onesie and a tutu, so I was thinking of doing the same type of thing with the twins, but maybe doing itty bitty pettiskirts instead, I don't know. I could have all my girls in matching petti's, probably pink. I'm hoping for some Valentines Day babies, but we'll see how it goes.

Made by Rae also has an awesome Ruffled Shirt Tutorial on Sew Momma Sew that I need to make myself for after I have the babies. It looks like it would be a semi flattering post-partum shirt, depending on how ridiculously huge my belly is right after I have the girls. Also this ruffle skirt (with an elastic waist of course) would be super cute with it too.

I found this amazing Valentines Sweatshirt on Etsy, but I don't have $190 to spend on a hoodie, so I think I might try and make one for myself. After searching all over for a plain bubblegum pink hoodie with no luck, I found this tutorial to make my own zip hoodie. It would be awesome to make little hoodies for my girls to wear on Valentines Day, dah!

Look at this fabulous scarf too! I'm going to learn how to crotchet tomorrow and make my own!

Do any of you have some good sewing projects you are wanting to start? We should have a sewing bee one night to get all all projects done!

  1. I would love to make that ruffled shirt-step one: buy a sewing machine. I haven't sewed anything since college when I was the "costume mistress"....and I did ALOT by hand-no machine at all!!
